I'd be most grateful for your help or advice on how to delete old video files from the RealPlayer Downloads folder.
I keep getting the error message that says " Cannot delete, It is in use by another person or program. Close programs using it and retry." However, the file is not in use, as far as I know.
Having uninstalled RealPlayer from Control Panel, it cannot be deleted from C:\Program Files folder. The error message is "Cannot delete dtdr3260.dll. Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and the file is not in current use." However, again, the file is not in use.
Should I reinstall XP to try to get rid of the program and file? Please help, if possible.
Kind regards
Edcondi

The first thing I would try is reinstalling Real Player and then uninstalling it with Revo uninstaller. [using the advanced mode]
And/Or:
Open >> My Computer >> Local Disk C >> Documents and Settings >> your User folder >> My Videos >> RealPlayer Downloads folder and delete. [or open and pick the ones you want to delete.
You can then select Remove Missing Media in the Tools tab in Real Player.
edit: if none of that works you could try this "unlocker" program - I have often used it with good results. It's free

Windows Live was uninstalled and reinstalled, but all the saved email in the storage folder got lost. Is there any chance of recovering the saved emails, please.
Thanks and kind regards

Did you delete the emails?
You could try a free program like Recuva.
I don't use Windows Live mail myself, so hopefully someone else will come along with a better idea.

The emails in the storage folder were not deleted. However, I had them accessible before uninstalling Windows Live with Revo uninstaller. Then I reinstalled the Windows Live procram. This time the stored files from Outlook Express were imported and the previously saved emails did not show in the new storage folders. I'll try out your suggestion with using Recuva. Thanks again for your kind help.
Kind regards

If this is still an issue you could try booting into safe mode and seeing if you can clear it from there?

The problem comes down to the database structure of message folders - it is too easy to prejudice this structure by messing with the files and folders through a file management system or Windows Explorer.

I just wish to convey my thanks all for the help with retrieving my lost emails in the Windows Live storage folder. They were lost after uninstalling Windows Live with Revo uninstaller. This message of thanks and appreciation also goes out to Windows Live Help. I had contacted them further to your advice regarding the problem.
Kind regards
