Never used it but it is a legitimate program.

I have used TrendMicro RUBotted. It doesn't protect you, just scans.

Right. It doesn't stop anything, rather it sends you off to the Trend Micro Online Scanner if it decides something might be a threat.

Edit: I'm not saying anything bad about it. I just think it could be confused with real-time protection when it isn't.
