It's better than AVG.

I thought you loved AVG to the ends of the earth

What probs are you having with AVG8? I have had none. Auto updates working
well. Real-time protection perfect. Why the need to reinstall it? Curious.

Get the stick to your son. AVG8 updates itself to even newer versions.
I never tried to uninstall it but if I had a prob doing it I would clear all entries
manually in folders and registry. But I am pretty unorthodox about my procedures.
Good luck and let me know if I can help.

This is the reason I left AVG. If you have any other security programs installed you might try uninstalling them before installing AVG. That's what they suggest on their forums. Ridiculous!

When I installed 8 over 7.? I removed/uninstalled nothing and it worked like a champ.
Again, the difference between machines, hardware, and software may strike some.
Go figure.

Did you try this AVG Remover?
Work on it when you feel better as most things go much smoother when in good state of mind.
Cheers.
