Well you could install two if you really wanted, but you would have to double and triple check that only one of them is open at a time, and only one of them starts at startup.

I don't personally see any point in it though, but each to their own

Just in case I have not said this before, I would go for a good quality internet security suite such as Kaspersky or F-Secure. Avira also had a good review recently. With AVG Free you get what you pay for!

OK, my last input to this.....
I really don't know why anyone has to be at odds with who, what, when,
where, or why something is used or not used for any reason.
If it works, great. If not, don't use it. Options and alternatives are abundant.
All my freeware works just as well as any paidware. Plenty of both to go around.
Nuff said.

Cannot agree with you there Gunner - you should not stop a thread in the middle of a mildly tepid discussion!!
Let it roll, dude, let it roll!

Education is the key
Tighten up your defences and stop the nasties in their tracks BEFORE they get a chance to infect
Im coming to the defence of AVG8
It does its job for a free version

I've been watching this thread with interest and you all know that I know zip, but I don't see the sense in having two Anti-virus apps. on any computer. If you have one that does the job my thought is to leave it alone to do it's job.

Now, I wish you guys would stop working Gunner over with regard to his choice of Anti-virus....lol. If it works for him and it works the way he wants it to, it's a great deal.
Gunner, I think they are playing you.......ignore the remarks.

Regards
Len

Len, thanks for your input. It's all good and I've been down this road many times
before. Not mad in the least for I just post my thing and others post theirs.
I don't profit in any way whatever anyone chooses to do or not do.
"If you have one that does the job my thought is to leave it alone to do it's job."
I do want to add to your statement though that one pill does not cure all.
Spyware or malware or whatever one wishes to call it evolves daily so not only
are updates critical but so are methods of detection. I wouldn't try and make
anyone paranoid but just aware that net attacks come in many forms and variety.
Techs are more aware because we see more and I could just be repetitious in my
methods because I see it a lot. Don't mess with what works but don't expect
what works not to mess/miss something.
Good luck (and there is a little luck to it) and safe surf'n.
