PC for me all the way!! I can't stand using the little joysticks for FPS games on consoles. A mouse is much better.

Well it was a close one for me.
Since I was raised on consoles and not the PC, (went through SNES, NES, N64 then PC in that order...with a few gameboys thrown in there)
I'll have to go with my xbox 360. The big thing that made me choose the xbox 360 over the PC was that you don't have to worry about buying new hardware to run the newest games. Instead, the newest games are built specifically for what you have...although I wouldn't mind somehow using my 360 as a computer instead. lol

Hello mate, good to see you about
Oh yeah, I forgot about that There was virtually no marketing before it came out, well at least I didn't see any. I would quite like to get one though, so when prices come down I may go for it hehe.

Again, I'm one of those PC all the way kind of people.
But...I absolutely LOVE the Wii and the Gamecube. That was the one controller I didn't mind using in the least. Super Smash Brothers Brawl is my game of choice on the Wii, and Twilight Princess is good too...as if my avatar wasn't enough indication.

I really want to get Twilight Princess, but it hasn't been cheap enough for me to buy it yet I don't usually spend too much on games unless it's brand new and something special, so I usually wait until I can get it pre-owned
I don't even use our Wii that much which is why I wouldn't spend a lot on a game for that, either.

I was lucky. I bought my copy right before it was scheduled to go up in price. I even got complimented on my timing by the cashier who was helping me. I bought the Gamecube version. I have NO idea if that one is any cheaper than the Wii version. But it will work in either case since the Wii reads gamecube games at least. You might need a regular GC controller though.
At the very least, the gamecube version of the game should end up being cheaper. I saw a used copy somewhere for around $40 or so. But if you do eventually find it for a lower price, I really do advise you get it. It's quite fun, though as per the usual the water temple is the hardest dungeon.
But getting to use things like slingshots, claw shots, bows and arrows, boomerangs, and all that wonderful stuff was very nifty. And the 3rd person where you run around fighting things in real time with different sword techniques was good stuff.

That sounds cool mate, I didn't realize that it was on GC as well, I thought it was just Wii.
A pre-owned one here is at least £35, and it's £40 now iirc, just so you can see how much the put it up over here.
Seeing as the Wii and Gamecube are the same console, I suppose they just changed the coding for the controls and called it done |

Right...I can't imagine much has changed in it. But you can play games like Call of Duty on it, meaning that they had to have upgraded the graphics chip and the processor in it. It's mostly the same, but I'd be shocked if they didn't keep up with technology. I've noticed that graphically a lot of things were much more pleasing to the eye. Super Smash Brothers Brawl has some fantastic stages. One is called Final Destination. The background constantly changes in it, and one of the scenes is a spectacular ocean view at sunset. Something tells me that the Wii has some better graphics processors for that kind of scenery.
Holy cow...40 pounds? That's easily double the prices we get.
Maybe I should buy you a copy and mail it

I have gamecube and love it. Just don't get around to playing it all that much. Really only have one good TV in the house and my mom is always got the news on or something so am never able to actually play anything. I mostly have sports games for the GC to. I use my pc for all the FPS stuff. Though I am considering buying a 360 sometime. Just cuse some people I know have it and want me to play Battlefield Bad Company with them.

Maybe I should buy you a copy and mail it | As far as I'm aware, the Wii is just a Gamecube in a different box and different controllers, but maybe I'm wrong. They might just be squeezing more out of it now they've had longer to play with it, a bit like how graphics in PS2 games have gradually improved since its release. If you play a game that came out with the PS2 and then put Gran Turismo 4 on, there is quite a difference. Some "budget" (i.e. rubbish) games have hideous graphics, even new ones
Yup, this is "rip off Britain" hehe, becaues everything's just so stupidly expensive.
I would be incredibly grateful if you did, but unfortunately the US is NTSC and over here we're PAL so it wouldn't work Just to be difficult Still, a couple of European countries have SECAM, which is used even less than PAL is.

Nice one, Hamas, still haven't been able to afford one myself yet hehe.
I'm just annoyed that the 80GB one STILL doesn't support PS2 games, and neither will the 160GB one they're releasing this month. I think it's this month anyway
Seems you have to get a 60GB one, NTSC 80GB or the hard drive from a 60GB to get PS2 functionality! That's what really puts me off getting one, because I have so many PS2 games I still want to be able to play them on the new console as opposed to having to keep the old one out as well, cluttering up the place. I already have an N64 on top of a SNES at the moment, next to the PS2 so can't really fit another one down there |
