Yes, Wii (pardon the pun) have one and it's good. Games are still a bit pricey, but we tend to rent them and play them for a bit - saves buying them!
You know the best thing about the Wii? You can use the wiimotes on a pc if you have bluetooth!!!!!

Yes, the retro appeal is one of the main reasons why people do buy the Wii. I have one, but I don't play it as much as I thought. I much prefer the xbox 360 and the playstation 3.

I have only ever seen a Wii be played, even though I know a few people with one. My dad wants to get one, though, as he enjoyed playing my uncle's one

Old thread bump eh lol.
Yeah, they do seem to be quite an interesting concept. Never played on one myself, but I wouldn`t mind having a go just to see.

I think I got to this thread from the Who's Online list, because I definitely didn't do it through the forum lists.
I thought hey, we've got loads of new members, let's kick up the dust and see who sneezes That totally makes sense after a can and a half of Foster's. Probably makes no sense when you've had none

I have one. it's good, I like the internet browser and news channel etc, but the novelty wares off. My favourite console is the 360 now.

In my opinion, the PS3 is just too much like a PC, and just takes the feel away of what a games console really is. You might as well just stick to your PC. In my opinion, this is why it isn't doing so well, because who wants to spend 100s of pounds for a tarted up PC that is meant to be a games console. I have a PS3 myself, and for all the money it costs, it doesn't really have that WOW factor. Fair enough it is a great console, but it doesn't really appeal to me as much as it's predecessors. The Wii brings games consoles back to what they do best, play games!

That's exactly the thing mate, Nintendo have made the Wii for pure entertainment, not features and specifications like the PS3 and 360.

Yeah. Microsoft and Sony - "Yeah lets be creative, lets put a PC in what looks like the case of a console, and add our own OS" - very profound I must say

Well, they got the Xbox and the PS2 which can play games and DVD's, and they took it further with the music, hard drive, and all the other stuff, in the process making it like a PC.
The thing is, because the 360 and PS3 are competing with each other, they're quite alike and so they're both a bit like a PC in a way.

We got a Wii for xmas and have played it a lot. I think it is interesting because we do not have an xbox or a playstation. Our interest is not the detail and intricate games but the simple to play and the physical interaction. Bowling was an immediate hit. The family plays together and this is what I think the biggest draw.
This game has been a gigantic success in the US the stores never have them in stock. Deliveries are regular but sell out right away. Our 4 and 6 year old nephews always want to play Wii when they come by. My parents have bought a Wii a few weeks ago, it s there first video console. The Wii appeals to every age. The price level is good also, at $250 it is quite a bit cheaper the xbox and ps.
I think this consule is hre to stay and grow.

The Wii will definitely be around for a while, as long as they can make enough!
Apparently some European countries don't sell as many as the UK or US so if you cant' find one in the UK, find a German website that ships to the UK. They're much more likely to have them in stock Any country so long as it's PAL will work alright.

I reckon they'll end up bringing out lots of the games that were on DS (in particular the ones which were 'big hits'), such as nintendogs. They love an opportunity to make a bit of dosh It's pretty amazing that they were a failing company at one stage, now they've got people clinging onto their ankles
