Thumbs down Anyone else think many xbox 360 products are overpriced?

Hi,
I got a 360 last year-I am a bit annoyed at the prices. Approx. £65 for a 20gb HDD? 12 Months Live £40? 4200 M$ points £35? Anyone else agree that it is overpriced?

I think the Xbox Live is a good price, other than that, everything else is really overpriced. The WiFi adapter is a shocking price, aswell as the hard drive which you mentioned

But knowing M$ they need to sell them for roughly 10x the price!

Do USB external drives work? I am tempted to buy a caddy and use an old 30gb drive I have lying around.

I reckon that for what you pay, you should get 3 consoles, seeing as you'll probably go through at least that many anyway, it would save you and M$ a lot of hassle.

That's insane, buy any normal 20GB HDD and you'll spend like £15 or something! If you can find somewhere to buy one from, that is I haven't seen anything lower than 40GB for sale on a shop site for ages. That would be good if external devices worked like that, but M$ might have disabled it to put more money in their pockets.

Yep, 12 months live should be a little bit cheaper, if not, free! The PS3's online is free and Sony are already making a loss with every P3 sold right?

Yeah, it should really be free. They make millions off the console accessories anyway.

Meh I don't really mind the XBL price. $50 isn't bad for 365 days of mostly great service.

True, $50 for a whole year isn't so bad, but it's not exactly pocket change.

That's typical Britain for you Why can't they do a proper exchange and make it £25 for us? Lame.

IMO that's too expensive, especially when Sony's service is free. It wouldn't be so bad if it was cheaper, I don't know if I'd pay much more than £15 realistically, unless I had to.

I don't often use my computer for gaming. I have a couple of games on the go (like portal), but I can't find many I like.

You could've always bought a super overpriced PS3 which is not quite as convenient to use and has less good games than the 360

Besides, the only other things I've needed for my 360 other than the XBL is the rechargeable battery pack which was only a $20. I don't even have a job and it doesn't seem that bad to me.

I've only actually seen 2 good games on the PS3. Most of them are just overrated.

Games I have been told are good on PS3 are Ratchet & Clank, FEAR, Burnout and COD4.

Let's please keep this thread to the subject of Xbox accessory/peripheral/whatever costs from now on and post anything you want to say about the PS3 in PS3 talk.

I've played the Burnout:Paradise demo (on 360) and I'm quite impressed. I like the slow motion crashes I have CoD4 too, and I reckon the campaign is great. However, I don't like multiplayer too much.

If I had the money, I would actually buy a PS3 for Burnout Paradise haha.

I'll start a general gaming thread somewhere so that we can talk about any gaming stuff, or we could use the "favourite console" poll thread, which is now in the Debating Room in case anybody didn't know.
