World of Warcraft 3D acceleration problem

i was lookin on the internet on how to fix my world of warcraft because everytime i start it up it says " World of warcaft was unable to start Unable to start 3D Acceleration." I saw that someone had told someone to( Hit "start", "run" , and type "dxdiag", click display and see if anything is disabled or greyed out..) So i did that and there was greyed/disabled out areas in the "directX Features section" and i wanted to know where do i go from here
Edit/Delete Message

i have:

Microsoft Windows Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600)

DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)

Try re installing Direct X. You can get the latest version from Microsoft's download center.

Usually this message is displayed when there's a problem with the Graphics Card Drivers or with DirectX

If you've updated your drivers and you've installed the latest version of Directx, please check one other thing.

Go to the Start Menu, then Run, then type dxdiag and press OK. This should bring up the Directx Diagnostic Tool.

Go to the Display tab and check that in the Directx Features box, all are enabled.

I got that error once when i updated to the newest driver for my ATI card on my old comp. I had to revert to the previous version before it would work. Try and and see what happens.

We need to know if you have a working graphics card driver so do the following.

Click Start, Control Panel, (Switch to category view if this hasn't been done already), Double click System, Click the Hardware tab, then Device Manager, double click on Display Adapters and tell me what you see there.

Intel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller is an integrated graphics controller that is on-board your motherboard and is universally known to be slow and rather crap.

If your motherboard has a slot for it, a plug-in graphics card will almost undoubtedly fix your problem.

In device manager, you need to double click on the Intel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller and select the driver tab and tell me what you see there. It may be possible to get things working reasonably with the on-board controller.

Thats the information i wanted to know.

If the driver provider section had said Microsoft corperation then you would have been using the default driver that is only really intended to get the thing working well enough to get the proper Intel driver on there.

I doubt you will ever be able to play any modern games with that.

Next, I ned to know the make and model of your pc and what windows version you are running.
The only way you will be able to play games with it is if you spend some money on a plugin graphics card.
With the make and model of your pc i should be able to determine if it has an AGP or PCI-E slot or you may be unfortunate and have neither.

Remember when you hit up dxdiag in the run command? Do that again. You should be able to pull up a list of specifications, including a model number. The model number will help us pull up a much more detailed list of specifications. More specifically, it'll tell us the motherboard make and model and therefore what slots you have open to you. And then we ask for the price range you can afford and recommend a particular graphics card.

If you want to try to do some of this research yourself, it might help you start to get a grasp of the inside of your PC. That's entirely up to you. I'd recommend trying your hand at it and asking questions. I found that being an intense gamer, and knowing a couple of things about your computer is really useful. Feel free to ask any of us what's what if you're interested in learning some stuff.

Just from googling the graphics card you have that's built in, you have an intel 856G motherboard, and that model has an AGP 8x slot. And that, unfortunately, won't house anything that's out-of-this-world powerful, but it will definitely hold some nifty stuff.

If you have an extra $130 to spare, you could pick up yourself an ATI Radeon HD 3850 512mb. That thing would put some serious kick into that machine.

That is all assuming that I've guessed the right board. So don't take that seriously just yet. I'm just jumping the gun a little and checking out possible options.

There will also be the stock PSU (power supply unit) problem where your PSU is probably only just powerful enough to run your machine at factory standard.

Adding upgrades uses more power, so a better 450watt PSU or higher will be a good idea.
