It's a great game. I have played it load of times and loved it. The map pack they released is over-hyped and disappointing :frown: The new one coming out seems pretty good.

Halo 3 is in my opinion the most over-hyped game in history. It's an okay game, I own it, beat it on legendary, but it's just not different enuff from halo 2. Everyone thought it was like the greatest game in the world then BAM! The alimighty Call of Duty 4 was released which pwned Halo quite fast

COD4 FTW!!

There too many first person shooters out at the moment, and it's really getting on my nerves. Don't get me wrong I do like them, but i'd like to see something different for a change. I agree, Halo is over hyped, but everything is these days. Games such as Halo are much better online than on single player IMO

Well Halo was pretty much made for the online, not so much for the singleplayer, although they did like to have a decent story for the series. Same thing goes for Call of Duty, all the games for the most part had a decent storyline, especially COD4. Then you have the shooters that are [i]definitely made for multiplayer, such as Frontlines. Campaign sucks but Mutiplayer is decent.

it all depends on which shooter you happen to find. there are some that aren't strictly shooter, but still fall into the shooter genre, and also have an absolutely amazing storyline. i'm surprised Bioshock remained unmentioned.

it had a lot of FPS themed into it. but the whole idea of plasmids and choosing which moral path to take by healing or harvesting, and telekinesis and all those other wonderful things thrown in make it far different from an ordinary shooter. and it has an awesome storyline to it.

Call of Duty 4 was more of an expansion to the series than it was a brand new game. they fixed certain bugs, gave you new abilities like throwing grenades BACK to the enemy, and being able to fire through walls and such. it is still the same in most other respects. you get missions, you play through them, and you get to play as different people of different nationalities. Halo 3 was the same way. new weapons and maps, a new story, but still basically the same. you run around and kill things to get from point A to B and that's the aim. Halo 3 was more disappointing than the others because you could for the most part simply run straight through most of the missions and finish the game. it didn't force you to even fight.

don't get me wrong, i loved Halo 1, and i absolutely exploded with joy over the Call of Duty series, especially COD4. but i just think that there are lots of FPSs out there and very few amazing masterpieces. bioshock was a masterpiece, and it wins over all IMO.

and Josh, you're right. it might be nice to have some non-fps types out there, but it looks like those fall under the console category rather than PC. non-fps games for PC are typically strategy, or MMOs. but outside of that, nothing.

Ive played the multiplayer of halo 1 and didn't really like it much. I don't know the whole halo series just is not all that impressing I guess. Everbody keeps saying how good bioshock is and to me looks kinda weird. I may have to get the demo though and check it out. COD4 is definitely better than halo. Great story line and awesome multiplayer. There is definitely a ton of FPS's out there, especially for the computer. It would be nice to see something thats not fps but is just as good as some of the fps's have been.

Yes, CoD4 is good I do play on it but prefer Halo's campaign. Halo's matchmaking sucks IMHO, although custom games and the forge are a great idea.
