i noticed that i tend to get some lag on the Wii playing Guitar Hero 3 and Brawl. it's a lot more frequent in Guitar Hero than it is in Brawl. but it's there nonetheless.

That's true mate, nothing's perfect, especially consoles.
Sorry about that, I forgot to mention in the other thread about this one
Maybe lag comes up sometimes just because of dust in the console on the GPU fan etc, making it a bit hotter. I dunno, this is just a theory hehe. I've never opened up a GameCube (or any console, thinking about it) so don't know what it's like in there hehe.

I prefer console gaming, Halo 3 and Call of Duty ftw, but I do like playing a couple of things on my pc. It's not in a very good state right now though.

Yeah I've never opened up a console either for fear that something will break, whether I did anything to it or not. And since consoles are so expensive to replace, I don't think I'll be doing it any time soon either. On the other hand, my bro has opened up controllers/consoles before.

Nintendo consoles are a pain to fix. I reconnected the screen contacts and bam... dead. On for a second then off, works only with screen detached. Happened to a couple nintendo consoles of mine.

I have opened up a Playstation before. It was kind of broken though. It didn't work all the time. that was after I dropped it on pavement by accident.
I wouldn't open my gamecube though, at least not yet. Now my computer I open regularly.

Same here mate, I'm completely comfortable in my PC's guts, but don't wanna open up my PS2 hehe. Which is weird because a PS2 is about £60 here now I think (for a slimline one as well, I have a big old fat one), but my PC has to be worth at least £150

And probably a lot of the people that enjoyed the series will agree that there are no two ways to go about playing it. Mouse, WASD, shift, F, G, space. Best combination for headshots ever.

ANY FPS game is better on the computer. You have more accuracy using a mouse. IMO.

there are exceptions to that as there are to almost any rule. Armored Core was one of those. it was for the PS2 and the final iterations of the game were made for almost all the next gen systems around.
it's a mech fps. you can custom build a gigantic fighting machine. and in that game, you NEED the controller because there are so many functions, and because you need to do so many things at once. you need to fly, you need to adjust the direction you're flying, you need to keep the enemy inside your line of site, you need to activate side weapons or shoulder weapons, you need to activate an extra flight boost...its so much at once you can't do it on a mouse and keyboard.
and if it WERE for PC, i wouldn't want to play it because i've gotten so good at using the ps2 controller. so much so that i went up against a champion in Armored Core 4 and got complimented. while i only beat him once out of all the times we played, he said i was the scariest armored core pilot he'd ever seen.

Never played it. Though to me it sounds more like a flying game than a fps shooter game, like cod4 and the like. And flying games are easier to play on consoles anyway. well I guess you could use a joystick for the PC. and that makes it pretty easy and fun also.

i use the term "fly" very loosely. you can skate in a manner of speaking. boost along the ground, and just ride the ground using your boosters to propel you in different directions. it's the fastest way to attack, and to escape attacks because running normally is incredibly slow even if you have a lightweight mech. and lightweight also has the downfall of less armor. but at least if you have light armor, your boosters propel you faster.
and your boost tends to run out fairly quickly so you can't fly as much as i'm making it sound. a lot of times you're skating because it conserves your boost, and even then you'll run out eventually and have to take the route on foot for a bit and recover. there's a lot of the first-person shooter element in there, it's just mixed with piloting this beast of a machine.

Yeah but it's not what you would call a first person shooter. More of a third-person.

The only type of games I don't like to play on PC and I think are better on console, are football and sports related games (except snooker). I also think sidescrolling games are better using consoles and controllers, but that doesn't count for DOS games
You can't beat The Sims on PC theres no other way of playing it IMO
