Is there a free and reliable application that will scan my computer and tell me what updates are available for drivers?
Recently I did a scan with an app. which finished telling me that my Nvidia's drivers were out of date but when I clicked on 'find new ones' it hit me up for big bucks to do that.
I felt scammed and am looking for a good, reliable one that is free. Is there such an animal?
Regards,
Len

I always go to the vendors own website to see if updated drivers are available when needed, and only when needed. If it's working I leave it alone. Sometimes new drivers don't play well with the rest of the system.
If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Here are some free scanners....I think. I haven't tried them but reliable ref. SysPrep Scanner Uniblue Driver Scanner
I'm with Husky. Unless you know there is a problem and absolutely needs an
updated driver for something, then go for it. Otherwise, let sleeping dogs lay.
Good luck. |

Yeah, I think that that's good advice.
Gunner, that Uniblue Driver Scanner is the one that told me there were updated drivers for my NVidia sound, but...............you need to pay money to access them.
It irked me a bit because it felt like bait and switch in that they hold a carrot in front of you and than ask for their $30.
Everything is running well so we'll let sleeping dogs lie.
Regards

Yeah, there are a ton of FREE apps that claim to do this and that but when pressed
to preform they want dough. Doesn't seem fair it isn't mentioned up front.
And now I'm still confused if my dog lies or lays.
People lie and Chickens lay. People lie and objects lay.
Dogs apparently lie also. I know mine never tells the truth.
Stay cool, Len. |
