I need a Vista driver for my Acer/BenQ 640BU Flatbed Scanner.
I have the disk and it worked fine on my old computer with Windows 98 but on Vista I get an error "Can't find the scanner". Vuescan works but I don't think I should have to buy another program. I used Mirascan on Windows 98 but can't find a Vista update for it either.
Thanks
Kirt

Thread moved to correct forum.
Have you tried the Acer website for a Vista compatible driver?

Hi Daveskater
Yes, I've tried Acer, BenQ, Mirascan and some driver download site...all to no avail so far.

I've had a quick rummage on Google, and it seems that that is quote an old product, so I doubt there is a Vista driver for it.
It's annoying that they don't make drivers for older products, I have the same problem with my digital camera

This might work with it as it works with one almost the same: VueScan Scanner Software |

Hi Hope.
Yes, as mentioned in my first post on this subject, Vuescan worked but, unless you buy it, the trial version puts dollar signs all over the scanned image.

Well since there is no driver, and your scanner has survived longer than most it has to be either buy the software or buy a new scanner. Choice is yours. But I can tell you this, today's scanners, are so much better than 7-8 year ago models.
