Exclamation [SOLVED] HP Pavilion DV6742eo Windows XP Drivers?

Hey guys...

I have just downgraded my HP Pavilion DV6742eo from Vista to XP (of course!)
I have almost found all the drivers, but i can't get the sound working! Under Device Manager there is no problems with the Sound device, and i have never downloaded a sound driver for it, but when i try to play music in Windows Media player, it says, that i don't have installed any sound device!
Everytime i get a system message my PC just says a big BEEP.

---

My Motherboard is Quanta 30D0, and the "Device Audio" is MCP65 High Definition Audio.

Is it a driver update i need, because i can't find anything!
Anyone ??

-----------------------------------------SOLVED!------------------------------------

Well, if you guys wanna get the drivers if you have same problem, then listen!

Wireless Ethernet driver:

Ethernet Driver:
http://us.download.nvidi.../12.15_nf...glish_whql.exe

Graphic Card Driver:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_175.16_whql.html

The sound ''driver''
I wrote with a guy on www.hp.com, and he told me, that i should install the driver like this:
This will create a swsetup folder in c drive ( for example:"C:\swsetup\sp33742")

1. Click on Start and select Run. Now type devmgmt.msc and press enter.

2. Right click on "Audio device on High Definition Audio Bus" and click Update driver.

3. Select "Install from a list or specific location"

4.Click Next. Then select "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install"

5.Click Next and then select "Sound, video and game controller" from the list.

6. Click Next and then click Have Disk.

7. Click Browse C:\swsetup\sp33742 folder and select the .inf (wis30b2a) file and click open and Continue with the onscreen instructions.

- I used the sp33742 file that can be downloaded from here:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...1842155&dlc=en

---------------------------------------- That is all drivers you need for Windows XP. The Touchpad doesn't need driver, it works withoiut a
driver!

My sound is also 3x higher than on vista :O

If you never downloaded the drivers for your audio you will need to. Just go to HPs site (or where you got the rest of your drivers) and look for audio drivers. Once installed all should work.

Also, Welcome to TST!

Download PC Pitstop Driver Alert from here. It will search for drivers that you need; however it will not give you the link unless you purchase a copy. But if you report back with its findings, we may be to help you find the correct drivers.

Ya your right, no listing about your sound.

Ok so I have searched the web some, and looked all over HPs site. No downloads for it anywhere. This is what I would do, go to HPs site and chat with a tech online. Ask them about your audio drivers and where you can get them for XP. If they won't tell you where to get them at least try to get them to tell you what kind of audio it is so you can look for the drivers on the manufactures site. If its a non HP audio.

No problem Daddan, just glad to be of service.

If you don't mind, post where you got the drivers so if others come along needing them we can tell 'em.
