That's interesting, Sista, but I don't know what an .iso file is or anything.
Could you please explain why one would need one to be created?
I love these tips threads, but often have this question: Why and under what circumstances < fill in tip of the day > this would be required?

Creating iso files of CDs or other disks you own is a convenient way to backup, archive or (if legal) share them.

Yus. Far be it from me to promote a Norton product, there is a thing called Norton Ghost which creates an .iso image of your hard drive. Some PC manufacturers use the same technique for the system restore CDs you get with a new machine.

Albert, Norton Ghost does not however create ISO files from CDs or DVDs, neither can it create a CD/DVD from an ISO file. (at least I dont recall my 2003 version doing so)
I like Alex Feinman's ISO Recorder
After you install ISO Recorder, no program group is created and there is no application to run. ISO Recorder is a Shell extension, which means it provides additional options in a file right-click menu.

Thanks, Sista and Klunk.
That'll be a helpful read.
Albert? Thanks to you, too, just for being you.

I have been using a free software for quite some time to create DVD movies etc. and ISO images is its specialty.
It is called ImgBurn (Image Burn). The author of this software is in the UK, called LIGHTNING UK.
Check out their website: The Official ImgBurn Website walt

If anyone is interested in compiling several downloads from YouTube or any other source onto a DVD then check out the following DVD authoring software (FREE): DVD Flick
The developer of this software uses ImgBurn as the final stage of his DVDflick programme.
