Your link is broken.
I have seen the story and to be honest the images produced by the scanner are hardly photographic.
If it helps to speed things up and does away with the pat downs etc, then I'm all for it.
Bottom line is this. I'm sure it's better for folks to go through a scanner, rather than risk being blown out of the sky.
