Thanks guys. Hopefully we will see him within the next few weeks. He's not supposed to get a leave for a while but as always, they are hoping to be given some time anyway...

They were taking new recruits up to 40 years old. It's probably changed by now but honestly they need a good mix of older and younger soldiers. Just because your in the military doesn't mean you are suddenly mature!

Hey, why not call up Former President Bush to go serve in Iraq?
He's not doing anything now anyway.
But alas, he's less than a month older than I am but I'll go along with a waiver.
When I was in Nam back in the 60's I knew a few grunts that were called back in
from WWll and Korea and given a step up rank. They were happy if they lived
through it as it helped out their retirement benefits.
I've heard of some 41 or 42 year olds going in. Even a doctor in his 50's.

No, you're not suddenly mature being in the military but one grows up real fast
under the right conditions as in bullets zinging by or just the constant pressure
of being in a war zone. Some of the things seen will turn a boy/girl into a
man/woman quickly with memories to last a life time.

I look to a day when there is no need for anyone to die

Not to strike up another news channel debate but last night as I was trying to wind down I went through the big 3 news providers.

CNN - Reporting on what Obama is up to.
Fox - Reporting on what Obama is up to.
MSNBC - Still bashing Bush. One guy even had a few jabs for Laura Bush.

So much for looking forward...

Fox, CNN, MSNBC...
I'm typing and watching Green Acres where Arnold (the pig) just turned on the TV.
Gotta love it. Thank goodness for cable.

Oops. Bad idea. Finished one episode Green Acres where Mr. Haney was
trying to get over on Mr. Douglas right in front of Sam Drucker.
Surf'd over to Breaking News from Fox, I read at many places, and
saw, "YOU DECIDE: Would You Want Terrorists In Your Back Yard?" on the
Fox Forum.
I have to chuckle, ROTFLMAO really, at not only the argument but especially
the first comment made by a true extreme right wing lugnut.
You gotta read it. Some comments that follow actually make sense.

In case it scrolls away, here it is:
There is going to be untold horror stories in the next four years. He will be
unmasked with every anti-American decision he makes. He won’t win a 2nd term
when the American people fully comprehend what he’s all about. He had neither
vision nor ideas — only hollow words to get elected. Americans are going to be
plenty disappointed over this guy.

Amazing. OK back to my TV programming

At least they are looking forward instead of beating a dead horse

I do feel that if Obama isn't highly scrutinized he will run us further into the ground. His stimulus package is pretty shaky to me. But I'm not a banker so I could be wrong...
