POTUS. No, not the present idiot. What will the future bring?
The first black man...the first woman...the oldest man ever to be elected prez?
It doesn't look good either way it goes. Of course it hardly ever does.
They talk the talk but when in office they fail to walk the walk.
Honest Politician is an oxymoron.
I remember two prez candidates who said the same thing and did the same thing...
"READ MY LIPS...NO NEW TAXES!!!!" Of course, raising taxes was the first thing they did.
I love my country and am a patriot with strong values of right and wrong.
I have been all over the world and would not choose to live anywhere else.
I am not cutting anyone who lives and loves it elsewhere. To each, their own.
IMHO, if one can not stand proud for their country, hopefully, they are free to leave.
I choose to stay, stand tall and be proud. |

Yeah, I guess they are. Most talk their way into it and spend the rest of the
time trying to talk their way out of it.
What is the answer? Oh, yeah, 42. |

I thoroughly believe that Barack Obama would make an outstanding US president but unfortunately the reality is that there is too much prejudice for him to be elected.
He seems to be the type of guy that would do the right thing with Iraq, pull out but do it slowly not leave it in ruins. From what I've read/herd I can't see anything which is likely to be a false promise and there's nothing I don't agree with.
And to be honest I think a black president would greatly increase Americans world image and strengthen ties with the east.
Unfortunately I'm under age and British but I think the people of America should strongly consider him.

If I was picked out of a crowd on the street and asked to pick the next president, then I would choose Barack Obama. He is obviously the right guy to choose and as far as I can tell would benefit the country.
Even though I'm old enough, I don't vote, and I wouldn't even if I could (i.e. if I was in the US).
Just so long as that idiot Bush leaves! This is my personal view and not that of Tech Support Team, if you were to assume that then you are wrong and I would give you a restraining order like I did the clouds. Batteries not included, actual product may differ from picture.

hooah
As far as presidents go, I'm beginning to think that years from now, Bush will be looked back upon as an okay president. I'd say he handled it well until the "Mission Accomplished" and he left behind plenty of great Bushisms.
But as far as the next president goes, I think that when Obama picked Biden for vp, he pretty much got the election...unless McCain pulls out something awesome. The problem for me is that I like views from both candidates which kind of makes it hard to choose. I wouldn't be able to vote in this election due to that fact that I've still got about a year and a half before I'm 18, but I think I'd pick Obama now if I had to choose although I'm going to register Republican when I turn 18. Just because I pick that doesn't mean I'll stick to it either....which is kind of obvious since I said Obama. I also would've voted for Clinton back in the day too.
I hear that McCain would bring back the draft if he gets into office. Not sure if that's true...can anyone confirm that?

Top Obama Flip-Flops
Special interests groups like unions
Public finance
Cuba embargo
Illegal immigration
Decriminalization of marijuana
Hey, I don't mind someone changing their minds with time and more facts.
Heck, I do it all the time but not just when it is convenient to me at the moment.
Don't even get me started on G,W. McCain flips in and out of muddy waters.
I hear you UKers and you all are very much attuned to what's going on.
I can only hope the Legislative Branch of 435 Congresspersons and
100 Senators can keep the Executive Branch in step while the 9 Judicial
judges uphold the law fair and square.
We need change and we need it now. I hope your wishes are the same. |

Name a president that didn't flip flop at least a little bit in recent history. I used to make fun of John Kerry for that...with his stupid little purple heart...
Speaking of presidents and the military, Roosevelt and Kennedy were the shizzle

Taima: I used to make fun of John Kerry for that...with his stupid little purple heart...
| Kerry earned 3 Purple Hearts, Silver Star and Bronze Star.
I heard of and read the stories. My link is Snopes and I can attest to it.
The United States military does not give out "stupid little purple hearts".
Mine aren't stupid and they certainly weren't funny when it happened.
Don't believe all the hype and propaganda, especially during election time. |

Sorry...didn't mean that the military gives out "stupid little purple hearts" and I'm sure it wasn't funny when you got yours (just wondering, how'd that happen?)
The media wasn't too far off as far as the purple heart thing went. He was hit by shrapnel which hurts like a female dog but it's true that it wasn't a big thing.
But like I said, sorry if you might have misunderstood me.

I think I understand you but this is what you may not know:
A Purple Heart is awarded to any member of the armed forces (including the Coast
Guard) who is killed or wounded in action; the severity of the injury isn't really at
issue. In other words, a Band-Aid boo-boo is fair game, so long as enemy action is
somewhere obvious in the causal chain.
The U.S. Army states, "the wound for which the award is made must have required
treatment by a medical officer and records of medical treatment for wounds or
injuries received in action must have been made a matter of official record."
All KIA receive a Purple Heart. All WIA also receive a Purple Heart.
(Killed In Action and Wounded In Action) All are direct combat positions.

Thanks for trying to explain things, but I did already know that But you might have done some other people a favor by putting more detail into it. I sometimes talk about things assuming everyone knows what I'm talking about....not the best habit.

I sure hope 16 is still considered young , just as I hope Gunner knows as much ( or more ) as I think he does. I'm also not very confident that the future world will be in very good shape.

Taima, I wasn't going off on you. If it came off that way, I apologize.
And keep up the good work noticing what's going on in our little world.
When I was 16 the only thing on my mind was girls, girls, girls.
There are better things to concentrate on, but I couldn't think of one at the time. |
