Would you get one?

Wow, I think that`s pretty cool. The ultimate pc gadget as far as I`m concerned and yes, I would definitely consider getting one.
It`d save me a lot of time.

That's supremely cool.
I can't remember who it was but I saw someone use a fingerprint scanner on a laptop once instead of putting their password in - it might have been someone form college.
Either way, that's a brilliant piece of kit

It'd make a nice review subject for sure.

I saw a keyboard and mouse set with an inbuilt reader the other day at tesco. Click here for the image. Seems a good idea to put it in a keyboard I reckon.

I have that same exact one, and its great. I have set all my passwords for websites on it as well, so when i come to this site for example, I just put my finger on it and it logs me in. That way I dont have to keep them all saved in the event that someone gets on my PC they can not access all of my Email, Sites, etc.
I got my on sale, I think it was 20 dollars.

Just saw a review of that scanner which said that the microsoft version is not compatible with FF. Puts me off a bit.

That's typical MS. They had the Mozilla guys round to help them with IE7 and they don't even make a fingerprint scanner compatible with their browser. How's that for gratitude

Yes many laptops nowadays use biometrics instead of passwords as it's quicker, and more secure, as who can guess your fingerprint LOL. You will see biometrics being used more and more. It will be eye sensory next
