Just pledged to download it!!
I will most definitely download it when it comes out! It would be awesome if Firefox pulled it off!

It certainly will. If it is pulled off, at least we can say we played a pretty good part hehe.

Yup, I hope they list all the countries that helped out in setting the record. Might be kind of long but oh well.
They better make sure their servers can handle all the traffic though. Though you will probably be able to download it from just about anywhere. I think...

I'm not sure it will be available on sites such as MajorGeeks until the 24 hours are up, otherwise they won't know how many downloads. Only time will tell. I think there servers will be ready. I would imagine that they are adding more servers as we speak, in preparation for "Download Day". They deserve this, anyway.

Pledged, can`t wait myself and I`m really looking forward to it.

I just hope the almighty memory leak that has plagued FF for years is finally plugged.

I believe most of the memory leak is fixed. However, doing a quick search on google I found this: How to fix the Firefox memory leak (Firefox hack) // Internet Duct Tape

I haven't tried it myself, so I accept no responsibility that may go wrong when trying this. If possible, try on a test machine first. The comments are good, however. I'm going to try it soon.

EDIT: Interesting read: Firefox 3 Memory Usage pavlov.net

EDIT #2: I have just tried the above procedure: How to fix the Firefox memory leak (Firefox hack) // Internet Duct Tape

It really does seem to work. Memory usage has dropped dramatically. I especially like that it now uses less memory when minimized. BTW, I'm using WinXP SP2.

865,400th pledge hehe.

I'm also looking at the link about reducing memory usage now, too

My telephone line will be connected on that day, but whether I`ll actually get my net on that day is somewhat debatable.

OK so today is the day!! But does anybody have any clue as where to download it??? I think maybe you can here --> Firefox web browser | International versions: Get Firefox in your language
But I am not entirely sure as its a "release candidate". So does anybody know?

*EDIT* Oh never mind. I don't think it has quite started yet.

Quote:
We’re just over 12 hours until the start of the long-awaited Download Day! Our Guinness World Record attempt will start when Firefox 3 is officially launched at approximately 10:00 a.m. PDT (17:00 UTC) on Tuesday, June 17th.

At that time, please check out the official Download Day site to download Firefox and for a map of worldwide downloads!
So I guess when it starts we will be able to download it at the "Download Day site".

*EDIT #2 * For me it will start at 1:00 PM. so in one and a half hours!!! yay
