uh oh think i have a cooling problem. Just checked the CPU temp of my Ahtln XP 2200+ Benching machine which has been on for 24 hours str8. 66 degrees. hmmmmm.....

suggestions people?

oh normal tower i use is bout 30 at idle and long use about 40ish TOPS.

Turn off computer and unplug from mains.

Open case, unplug cpu fan lead from mobo and take off heatsink. Clean old thermal pad/compound off of both heatsink and cpu die. Thoroughly clean heatsink and fan of any dust etc. apply new thermal compound to cpu die and replace heatsink and plug cpu fan lead back onto mobo.

See if that helps.
