Reinstall to new HDD - now USB devices not found

Any ideas on this one, anybody?
I have just reinstalled the OS and drivers as the drive failed, and now the USB devices will not install. So far a wireless NIC and a flash drive are not seen.
I have used the stock MSI motherboard driver install CD. The only reference to USb drivers on the driver install CD says they are provided by WIndows.
Much appreciated if anyone can throw some light on this one!

Thanks Klunk
lost my rag with it and it now with the choir invisible in the aethernet of PCB heaven.
It was an MSI board - enough said.
Dunno why I am expected to spend my time trying to mend such complete garbage hardware. Wasted too much time trying to get it to work with patches and so on - NBG; and won't get paid for the time either!

Get thee a couple of points down thar neck and forget it.

Talking of beer, I can hear the pub calling, I'm off for a Sneck Lifter

In northern dialect sneck means door latch and a sneck lifter was a man’s last sixpence which enabled him to lift the latch of a pub door and buy himself a pint, hoping to meet friends there who might treat him to one or two more.

Ah Jennings - probably my favourite brewery! My local has Cumberland so that idea has now taken root and the idea of a drowning session appeals....let's see if we can raise the local levels a bit!
