Anyone know about "express boot" motherboards?

Anyone know about these express boot boards? They boot from a lump of RAM (like a USB flash drive)
I need to order one in the next 30 mins!

I'm not sure about what the trade have called it, but I was told about the idea and it was described as an 'express boot' board, which had a large lump of RAM, discreet from the main memory, which contained the files needed to boot the system into the OS. I don't know where the line was/is drawn where the contents of the HDD take over but the idea of making the boot that much quicker does appeal to me! I have googled various options for what it might be called but found nothing. I will ask he who told me (a Belgian: says it all!) where he heard of it and let y'all know.

Sounds interesting. I've heard of I-RAM and of loading an entire OS into memory on boot, but I've never heard of the stuff you describe.

That has to be the one - although they might already be available over here perhaps?

I am waiting for one of these board as well for my 9850BE chip.
They are made by Asus it is called Express Gate and the program it runs is called Slashdot.
Slashdot | ASUS Motherboard Ships With Embedded Linux

Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK

The reason I am waiting is I want a Nvidia board and the one they have got at the moment does not officially support the 9850.
This board only supports Phenoms up to 95 watts and the 9850 is 125 watts.

I am beginning to think there might be more than one sort of express or flash boot - one that gets the system running and straight into a browser or email, the second which gets you a fast boot into the normal OS.
