You too Goku! We have a big Diwali near here in Leicester - they even close the roads in the city centre!

In truth I feel sorry for them today, it is so cold and miserable in Leicester - I was there this morning and it could do with a good sparkle!

Yes Albert. I think, crackers are used to celebrate the festival as they are used to symbolize warmth and affection that the festival is said to bring. Besides, it marks the start of the cool Winter winds and therefore is celebrated with even greater vigour. I am against the burning of crackers but do feel contented to watch others waving sparklers with awe and delight.

It is just miserable to think of the less privileged ones who seem to watch the celebrators with a kind of innocent longing.

Is it a caste thing, Goku? I know it is across all the Indian religions but not sure about the caste differences.

Yes, it is known as the festival of light BM but I wouldn't be so narrow minded as to call it ours. Festivals are, I believe, to be celebrated by all and not by one.

Not generally Albert but some people might be celebrating it in such fashion. They are undoubtedly deluded as I have always firmly believed that callous pleasures are short lived.

I know you answered Albert, but I don't really understand this comment.

I would, but it's snowing.
I will light candles this evening though.
I have a lovely one that's got Frankincense in it.
