I noticed that one member asked why you're up late, whereas another asked what the point of this thread was. I'll pass on it from now on, or at least until what constitutes acceptable "mindless banter" has been defined.

actually, I did explain the reason for this thread, perhaps you'd like to start a new one questioning what acceptable mindless banter is then we can all rest in our beds, I'm sure it wont interfere with my beauty sleep

See, I thought we were done but something I said obviously led to some misunderstanding so ... that should be corrected.

I mentioned another member questioning the point of this thread. Your reply above overlooked the context in which said other member questioned the point of this thread; namely "given there's already a chit-chat thread, what's the point of this one?".

Other than that, I don't know too much to tell you. I read somewhere that this is a friendly forum. You were being (it seemed) playfully coy about your employ, so I decided to play along. Well, what they say about appearances is patently true, since for my troubles I get "OMG, WTH do you get off invading my 'privacy'?".

Perhaps there's more to it than your 'privacy' (e.g. you don't want to broadcast where you work since you're posting from there); I don't know and, TBH, I no longer care. In future I'll just stay out of your way so we can go about our separate ones.

Hi Dotty,
It is now Thursday, 7:17 pm ET. Had a nice sunny day today in southwestern Ontario, Canada. This morning spouse & I went to Lambeth for our regular (quarterly) visit with the family physician (blood pressure, blood drawn, etc... - no problems for now), then went for breakfast in London, Ontario and then shopping. Returned home to St. Thomas (about 30 minutes south of London by car) at about 3 in the afternoon.

Now nightfall is shrouding our house and as I type this note my CD player is playing some wonderful baroque guitar music by Julian Bream.

Well that is it for the flash report from this side of the world. Have a productive night.

we've had our first mild day in ages, I went shopping too but only for food but it sure was nice to get out in the fresh air and take a walk, I then returned home and decided to clean out my kitchen cupboards, thought there might be a few items out of date.. would you believe I had 4 bags full of tinned and packet foods dating from 2006/2007 I was shocked to say the least, just shows how much money can be wasted I'm sure gonna keep my eye on my stock in future, I've already got 8 tins of baked beans and 12 tins of soup and I'm a single girlie!

Good thing you didn't eat any of the outdated food. Since my diet is vegetarian, the things I buy spoil quickly and would be noticed when they are going bad. Still, I have occasionally missed an item or two, wrapped up onion, old cucumber slices and the sort that got a bit past their prime in the back of the refrigerator.
Well as I said somewhere else - ta, ta - I really gotta go now. Buy.
