Then im sorry to tell you this but theres no way to edit it without losing the animation as it has to be the origonal
for example you create in photoshop CS2 if you save it as .psd anyone who gets it can edit it but if you save it as .gif no one can edit it.
sorry
Joe

I personally use the Ulead_Gif_Animator programme and so far, I`ve been able to edit any .gif image I`ve come across.
See below for an example.
The first image is the original. The second and third images are after editing. I edited the image to use as part of my mobile phone theme.

You could look at a product called MicroAngelo - this allows you to create animated gif files from scratch as well as edit existing files providing they are no bigger (I think!) than 72 x 72 pixels.
There is an evaluation product on their site at http://www.microangelo.us/
Hope this is helpful!

it can be done.
if you have photoshop CS2, the you most certianly have image Ready (it comes with CS2)
you can open ImageReady, and then open the .gif file (file>open"yourimage".gif)
then make sure you have the animations window opened (Window>animation, make sure animations is ticked)
you will then get each frame which the .gif is create of in a small window at the bottom.
then by clicking on each frame, you can then add text or whatever you would liek to add.
its a fairly easy process if you know how to use photoshop, with layers and all that.
if you add em to MSN i can help you out?
