A series of rifles produced by Barrett.
The first (smallest) bullet is one from a civilian equivalent of an M16. The second bullet is a standard round used by hunters. The third is obviously a .50 caliber round. Monstrous size, monstrous damage. If fired from 1.5 miles away, it can hit you with more force than a .44 at point blank range. It's legal to own one in every state except for California, where The Governator deemed it too dangerous in civilian hands.
Gotta get me one of those before some president goes and bans 'em |

Either to blow someone apart, or big game hunting...or for those guys in Texas who'll shoot any Mexican that crosses the border.

Just to own one. Anyone that sees that hanging on your wall will know that you are NOT to be toyed with. And...really...who wouldn't want to do some target practice with that kind of a weapon?
I've nicknamed this gun the BFG. And I'd give my left nut to fire one of these. But then again I love anything that involves explosions, guns, or blades so my being willing to sacrifice a body part for this should come as no surprise.

Take the guns away and the same people now stick knives in each other. Same result only a bit more personal.

Knives slightly less deadly, you have to get to a person to stab them. You can kill several people a second with a gun.

In my personal opinion civilians shouldn't be able to carry firearms, but that's just me, and I've been told for years that my opinion isn't worth anything.

I think only the Army [and the other Forces] and Police should have the right.
Times have changed dramatically since 1791, or whenever it was that it was conceived and written. We have a few outdated laws in England too;
for example:
It is legal to murder a Scotsman within the ancient city walls of York, but only if he is carrying a bow and arrow.
Of course, no English court would actually take these old laws seriously.

If it's still an actual law, it would be illegal to ignore it. If I were you, I'd find a Scot that moved to England, and camp outside an archery store and pop him to see what happens. Quote:

I don't believe it's fair to say one way or another whether guns should be allowed or not, and for that matter if they should be only allowed for certain people. You can't necessarily deprive people of their defense mechanism when for instance they get jumped on the street by a psycho with a knife. Similarly, you can't deprive someone of their favorite past time. Take for instance, professional skeet shooting. It's an Olympic event if you forgot or didn't know. Are you just going to eliminate that event because guns cause so many problems?
Another point I have is that you can't say that only the military or the police should have them. The military is the most condemning reason for having guns. After all, the military is one of the leading causes of death. And the police have been known to commit hate crimes against minorities and abusing their power using these weapons.
I say that it's pointless to argue, and that you can think what you will. I would personally just like to enjoy guns for their recreational value.
Anyway...Taima, you're correct indeed. BFG in my mind was in fact big effin gun. I nicknamed it so because the name delivers, and because it's a reference to the gun of the same nickname from Doom 1. That gun was also similar in nature because it was devastatingly powerful, and it was huge.

No, I see no problem with gun sports or hunting if it's all regulated safely. Quote: |

| I agree about the police and what CAN happen, but all I'm saying is that it is necessary for police and army in most countries these days.
What concerns me most is that children grow up thinking it's "normal" to be armed to the teeth; and so the problem escalates.
Ah well! [just my opinion]
