[SOLVED] Installing XP Pro

I just got my new computer and I am wanting to do a fresh install of my windows xp pro which is currently registered on my existing computer. I have never done an install of windows before always relying on a professional to do it for me. I have done a complete back up using my Karens replicator on my existing machine and really am wanting some advice on how I should firstly install the XP and go about registering it from my disc and secondly what steps I need to take after installing the XP. No doubt after installing XP I would need to get the antivirus in first of all then maybe the Malwarebytes and SAS. Then really all that is left to do is copy and paste what is left in my docs on the back up over to the my docs on the new comp and installing all the programs which I wish to keep. Might pay to install a browser into the system too. Any advice would help me out heaps. Cheers

Hello is anyone home

I just want to clear up a few things after talking to a friend of mine today. I am currently using my windows xp pro on my existing machine and am wanting to install it on my new machine, am I able to do this and will I need to enter my product key to do this? He seems to think you can only register 1 xp to one machine after that he says I need to buy a new operating system. I thought I could at least install it without putting in the key and then transfer the registration over after I have transferred everything I wanted to transfer.
