Cannot delete RealPlayer Downloads

I'd be most grateful for your help or advice on how to delete old video files from the RealPlayer Downloads folder.

I keep getting the error message that says " Cannot delete, It is in use by another person or program. Close programs using it and retry." However, the file is not in use, as far as I know.

Having uninstalled RealPlayer from Control Panel, it cannot be deleted from C:\Program Files folder. The error message is "Cannot delete dtdr3260.dll. Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and the file is not in current use." However, again, the file is not in use.
Should I reinstall XP to try to get rid of the program and file? Please help, if possible.
Kind regards
Edcondi
