I don't suppose anybody's reading this, but here is a followup to my above post.
I finally decided that I've had enough of my SSD for a boot drive, got tired of the stuttering, slow write speed, and sure can't afford more of these things for a Raid array. So, I purchased two WD Caviar Black 500g drives and made a Raid 0 array. To me it seems much more snappy than the SSD. The reads are not as fast, but the writes are way faster, and all this to me kind of averages out to be more satisfying than the SSD. A good bit cheaper to, no actually a LOT cheaper, and a whole lot more space. To add to this, I can't believe how much faster it is than a single spindle drive.
Although I had no knowledge of Raid before this project, I've found it very enlightening after doing a lot of Googling. The Caviar Black drives are supposed to be fast anyway, but two of them are really fast. I might even get another one. From what I've read, over three of these drives in a Raid 0, might even be slower, taking more time to read multiple drives. If anybody has any experience with that option, (four drives), I would appreciate sharing.
One other thing I've learned because of the SSD. After reading all the things that need changing to optimize the SSD in OCZ forums, I've found out how much smaller you can make your Windows installation just by getting rid of the hybernation files, if you don't use this feature, it might be somthing to look at if you are short on space.
I realize the more drives that I have in Raid 0, the more chance of data loss I have, but I back up regularly to another drive what's important, so I'm not really worried about that. I'm still using the SSD, but just as any other drive, nothing special.
