If you've updated your drivers and you've installed the latest version of Directx, please check one other thing.
Go to the Start Menu, then Run, then type dxdiag and press OK. This should bring up the Directx Diagnostic Tool.
Go to the Display tab and check that in the Directx Features box, all are enabled.
